Konmari Is A Mystical Experience
Have you read (and done) @mariekondo ‘s Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up? I did it last month and honestly don’t know how I ever survived before. I’ve known the connection between the state of my physical space with my mental health but she explained to me why they were so intertwined and coached me (via audiobook) through making drastic, fantastic shifts in my home. She’s a mystic - so much of what she says could be a metaphor for all of life. Among many things she taught me, as a sensitive creature it is critical for the things around me to lend me strength and that happens when they bring me joy. Not because they are useful or passed down or expensive (those are just reasons i haven’t thrown them away), although those can be traits of items that bring me joy. I could go on forever, but if you’re going to do the method the first step is to determine what kind of life you want to live. She gives a series of subquestions which I turned into a tarot spread. Let me know how it is for you! Also, if you want a really basic spread just pull a card each for ‘what will my home look and feel like’ - it is really helpful to have them when you get stuck with an item and can ask, will this thing fit into a life that looks and feels this way? It also helps to use a more expressive deck than a Rider Waite - I used the gorgeous Anima Mundi deck by @thecreepingmoon
1. Why is this what I need (based on the past).
2. Why is this what I need (for my future).
3. What will my home feel like?
4. What will my home look like?
5. What will this cultivate within me?
6. Who will be around me?
7. What is helping me?
8. What is holding me back?
9. What will this bring to my life?
Enjoy and happy tidying!
