The Unseen

My seer pseudonym is Piff. I took the word for A Sudden Revelation (epiphany, or in my case, Tiffany) and shortened it to Piff.

For me, mediumship isn’t just talking to the dead. Developing relationship with spirit - whether that of a loved one on the other side, our own subconscious, extraterrestrials, the body, Earth or any other presence that calls to our deepest truths - involves more than just conversation and brings more than just words. 

After years of building a career in tech strategy, little bits and pieces of spiritual awakening driving from the backseat, I left the big city to fix up my great, great grandma’s cottage in Lily Dale. I still work as a researcher and strategist for life-driven innovation (which you’ll find on other pages of this site). In both my rational and non-rational work as well as my daily life, I strive to bring care and curiosity to the table. I love to work with those who also ask more of themselves, want better ways to relate to the world, and seek freedom in all its glorious forms.

My Lineage

Know who you’re working with! I want to share these people, ideas, and places with you and offer my gratitude to each of them.

By blood, I am majority Nordic and Eastern European, with ancestors hailing most recently from Sweden, Poland, Scotland & England. On each side, I have a first-generation grandparent and an early settler-colonist grandparent who arrived 10+ generations ago. In escaping persecution in Europe, some of my family came to this continent and began the decimation of the existing people, culture, and environment. I acknowledge that I exist because of their courage and that they helped build a new society on this continent through heartbreak and tragedy. I work to break both the learned behaviors and orchestrated systems that perpetuate harm to so many people, beings, and places.

I was not raised religious, but my recent ancestry is a mix of Protestant and Catholic people. My second father’s family has been Spiritualist for as far back (at least five generations) as we can find. I learned Tarot through Rachel Pollack’s books in 2011 and in person in 2016. I began studies in Earth-based wisdom with Marza Millar in 2013 and started mediumship with Elaine Thomas and Judith Rochester in 2018. Music is an important part of my spiritual practice as well. In 2022, I began to study ragas with Michael Harrison.

My intellectual lineage is also important. My undergraduate degrees in Cognitive Science and Music Technology from UC San Diego have profoundly impacted how I think, especially my advisor, Peter Otto, who was the first to suggest that I might become a futurist. My master’s degrees in business and finance from Switzerland & Singapore took me all over the world to change my perspective time and again. I have branched out far and wide with books and classes to build my beliefs and practices, which evolve and expand by the minute.

Finally, my emotional lineage has come from family (chosen and blood), friends, colleagues, peers, neighbors, and professionals who I want to thank from the bottom of my heart.
